It’s been a long time since I printed images for myself to enjoy. Technically, these were not printed for my enjoyment, and I’ve already boxed them up and sent them to the terrific folks who are handling this year’s African Well Fund, Build A Well For Bono’s Birthday campaign.
I absolutely loved thinking about what images to print, what paper to print them on and I was so pleased with the results. I have recently begun to appreciate metallic paper and was excited when I realized 2 of my 3 choices were going to literally shine when I printed them. Bono “on his knees” and Bono “in the blue light” look fantastic on the metallic paper. If I had a bit more spare cash right now I would have given the Bono and Adam picture a go on the metallic paper. But I wasn’t sure and I only wanted to print once so I chose silk paper which predictably worked out very nicely.
I’ve had the opportunity to see all if the images from the other photographers who are contributing and it is a great group of images this year. I’m hoping that the photographer’s auction will help the AWF’s goal to raise $50,000 in honor of Bono’s 50th birthday this year.
I’ll post more details when they are available.
