Snowy Day

Today’s snow was a great excuse for sleeping in.

I had been planning on the 7am kickboxing class today. The alarm dutifully went off and I could hear the rain beating against the window. After an alarmingly short debate with myself, I shut off the alarm, rolled over and slept in with this vague notion I’d go to the 9am class.

I don’t like the 9am class because by the time I’m having my first cup of coffee its already 1030 and that seems wrong during the week. I don’t accomplish much work at home before that first cup. Todays rain and snow made it seem okay.

At 8am I woke up again. It is so much more civilized to wake up at 8am. I had just thirty five minutes to kill before getting ready for class. I got up, brushed my teeth, washed my face, looked at the snow falling and climbed back under the covers to read. The next time I glanced at the clock it was precisely 9am.

Hurrumph. So much for Kickboxing Class at 9am.

I think that pretty much set the tone for the day. Plan to do something, get distracted, do something else. Not a bad way to spend a snowy day I suppose.

If I’m going to get up…

Nothing is worse than getting up early in the morning for a kickboxing class and finding you’re not enjoying the instructor’s style. I’ve been having that issue for awhile now with the morning crew but I am trying to keep to a reasonable schedule so 2x a week I drag myself to the gym for a workout that doesn’t work for me.

This morning I convinced myself to go to class and was so excited to see one of my favorite instructors was filling in. I had a great workout, even if I had to be careful of my knees (which look worse than the jeans do, see my last post for details.)
